– ¿Cómo definirías tu rol como padre?
Lo definiría como el rol más importante que tengo. Es lo único que no
se puede comprar, alquilar y que siento incondicional. La oportunidad de acompañar la formación de una persona, de un ser humano es inigualable y a la vez un laburazo. Que crezca sana, disfrutando, descubriendo, sin presiones sobre qué va a tener que hacer cuando sea grande, pero dándole herramientas para que pueda descubrir qué es lo que le gusta, es algo que mi rol como papá me exige todos los días y que espero estar haciéndolo bien. Voy aprendiendo todo el tiempo sobre ser papá.
– ¿Qué es lo que más disfrutas de la crianza de tu hija y que representa un desafío en tu paternidad?
Lo que más disfruto está en las pequeñas cosas del día a día. Olerla en la cama cuando duerme, sus abrazos en las mañanas y verla cómo se va desarrollando como persona, es muy loco eso. Cuando empezó el colegio, hace tres años, tenía miedo de que no aprendiera a leer. Tres años después, lee mejor que yo.
Mi desafío como papá es generarle herramientas para que ella se pueda defender y progresar en su vida; si ella es una buena persona y bicha para la vida, con esas dos cosas yo me sentiría que tengo la mejor hija del mundo.
– ¿Qué significa la paternidad para vos?
En este momento de mi vida la paternidad tomó un desafío bastante importante, porque mis padres murieron, entonces todos mis sentimientos están multiplicados por esta causa y siento y veo en Olivia casi la mayor parte, lo que hoy es mi familia. Siento que ser papá me estabilizó en mi vida, en toda mi vida. En lo sentimental, en lo laboral y también en lo espiritual, pero también me hizo más vulnerable y temeroso, que es un sentimiento que descubrí con la paternidad; si lo tuviese que resumir en una palabra diría que la paternidad me hizo ‘completar’ mi vida.
– ¿Cómo combinás la paternidad con tu profesión?
Esta es la parte que desde chico soñé, mi hija Olivia que hoy tiene 8 años me acompaña a trabajar y yo me vuelvo loco, ella me pide ir a la oficina o me pide ir a las obras, pero me lo pide con ganas, entonces podría decir que Olivia ya es parte de mi estructura; cuando ella viene conmigo a reuniones y en las que me acompaña ella escucha y en los días que siguen me pregunta cómo viene el tema que se trató en la reunión y demás, es ese pequeño momento el que me hace derretir y estar muy seguro de la decisión que tomamos con Sabri, mi mujer, de ser padres.
