Stéphanie Frappart tiene 38 años y desde 2011 arbitra de forma internacional. Ahora, su vasta trayectoria sumará un hito más, ya que el próximo jueves 1 de diciembre, tendrá lugar un partido que cuyo equipo arbitral estará compuesto íntegramente por mujeres. Se trata de la disputa entre Alemania y Costa Rica, por el Grupo E.
La francesa fue una de las seis árbitras convocadas para estar en la competencia, junto a la ruandesa Salima Mukasanga y la japonesa Yoshimi Yamashita, acompañadas de las asistentes Back, Díaz Medina, y Kathryn Nesbitt, de Estados Unidos.
Ahora, pasará la historia junto a sus asistentes: Neuza Back, de Brasil y Karen Díaz Medina, de México. No obstante, cabe destacar que previamente, actuó de cuarta árbitra en dos partidos de este Mundial, en México-Polonia y el Portugal-Ghana.
Carrera pionera de Stéphanie Frappart
Antes del desembarco en Qatar, Stéphanie Frappart ya en 2014 se convirtió en la primera mujer en arbitrar en la segunda división francesa y luego en la primera categoría -Ligue 1- masculina (2019).
Además, fue la primera en la Supercopa de Europa (agosto de 2019), en la Champions League (diciembre de 2020) y en la final de la Copa de Francia (el pasado 7 de mayo).
A su vez, a nivel de Mundiales, dirigió una final del femenino, que organizó su país y que coronó bicampeón a Estados Unidos en 2019, aunque también estuvo presente en las eliminatorias europeas para esta Copa en los duelos Países Bajos-Letonia y Lituania-Irlanda del Norte.
